School and youth prevention

Schulprävention

AIDS-Hilfe Oldenburg e.V. offers prevention programs for schools in the city of Oldenburg, the districts of Ammerland, Oldenburg, Wesermarsch, and Cloppenburg, the municipality of Stuhr, as well as schools throughout East Frisia and the city of Delmenhorst. Our school prevention events are aimed in particular at students in the ninth and tenth grades.
Usually, a unit consists of a two-hour lesson per class, but longer formats can also be arranged.

The primary aim is to provide young people and students with basic knowledge:
What is HIV and what is AIDS?
How is the HI virus transmitted?
How can I protect myself and others from it?
What does HIV have to do with discrimination and what can I do about it?

Our guiding principle is to teach Sex³, i.e., sexual diversity, sexual self-determination, and sexual health. We work with an accepting, anti-discriminatory attitude and talk openly and respectfully about topics such as sexuality and drug use.
